Ralph's a friend & I love this particular long-term sculptural project he's been doing for several years, turning his home into a (to me) vaguely Lovecraftian installation. And this poster just cracks me up & fills me with joy. I think it's the best of several great posters from the Marginal Art Festival organized by Brian Counihan & Jim Leftwich & others in Roanoke, VA.

Lunch with Bennett & Cantsin
A couple weeks ago, in mid-January I guess, Dr. John M. Bennett was in town. He's a prodigious poet, artist, publisher etc., and is the curator of the Avant-Writing Collection of the Rare Books & Manuscripts Library at Ohio State University. Several years ago John was kind enough to start accepting my work into that collection. I'd only met him once briefly at OSU, so this was a nice chance to spend some quality time with him.
We went to the Temescal Farmer's Market and brought our fruit & veg home to my house where we started chopping, peeling & dressing. Monty Cantsin came over and joined us for lunch. He'd been expecting to meet a different John Bennett, but we all had a good time anyway.

Casey Brooks d. 1.29.2008
There's a "Casey Brooks Remembrance" page on Facebook but I can't figure out how to link to it from here. You'd have to log in to Facebook & search for "Casey Brooks Remembrance."
In the meantime: Enjoy life while you can. Be nice to people every single chance you get.
